Felix Rubio Masterful Contemporary Spanish Painter

Félix Rubio Sanz is a Spanish visual artist based in Seville whose work merges painting, philosophy, and a profound exploration of colour as a means of understanding human experience. With a background in Philosophy, Art History, and Aesthetics, he brings intellectual depth and emotional sensitivity to a practice shaped by decades of reflection and cultural engagement.

Moving between expressive figuration and abstraction, Rubio creates works that explore identity, memory, solitude, time, and the impact of technology on contemporary life. His paintings do not seek to reproduce reality, but to reveal the emotional and psychological dimensions hidden beneath its surface. Human figures, urban scenes, interiors, and landscapes become spaces for contemplation, inviting viewers to reflect on perception, connection, and existence.

Working primarily with oil and mixed media, Rubio combines glazes, impasto, collage, and textured materials to create richly layered compositions in which colour, matter, and meaning are inseparable.

His work has received international recognition, including the Menzione di Merito awarded to Broken Communication at the 6th Biennale della Creatività W.A.B. – Men for Women in Italy. In 2026, he also created the official poster image for the Pop Eye Awards, broadcast by RTVE, and presented his solo exhibition EXPOPARTY in La Línea de la Concepción, Spain.

Through a deeply personal visual language, Félix Rubio Sanz invites us into a world where thought and emotion converge, transforming painting into a space of reflection, uncertainty, and human connection.
