Iskandra Khan: Self-Taught Artist in the Netherlands
Iskandra Khan is a self-taught artist based in the Netherlands whose creative journey has been shaped by both formal training and ongoing personal exploration. In the early stages of her artistic path, she studied at the Netherlands Academy of Art, where she developed a solid foundation in essential techniques such as form, structure, light, shadow, and still-life composition.
Over the years, Iskandra has continuously evolved her artistic voice through experimentation and practice, resulting in a diverse and constantly evolving body of work. She works primarily on rigid canvas and watercolor paper, using materials such as acrylics, oils, pastes, beads, and mixed media. Drawing inspiration from reference images, she reinterprets them to create her own distinctive designs, ensuring that each piece is unique, without repeating patterns or styles.
Her work has been exhibited in two art galleries in the Netherlands, and, through her own initiative, two of her pieces have been published in internationally distributed art books. Open to growth and discovery, Iskandra sees every opportunity as a space to learn, explore new directions, and evolve through dialogue with other artists.
Honoring excellence. Celebrating creativity.
