Miroslav Spadrna (Pintorcheco)

Contemporary Czech Artist

Miroslav Spadrna, known artistically as Pintorcheco, was born in 1968 in the Czech Republic and currently resides in Almería, Spain. With an artistic career spanning several decades, he has developed a distinct pictorial language that navigates between abstraction and figuration, exploring themes of memory, silence, transformation, and light.

He works primarily with acrylic on canvas, creating surfaces rich in texture, transparency, and spontaneous gesture. His compositions—dominated by deep blues, indigos, and turquoises—evoke fragmented architecture, submerged cities, imaginary portals, vessels, and interior landscapes that exist somewhere between reality and dreams.

His work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions across Spain and various European countries, and he has participated in international projects in cities such as Milan, Paris, Venice, Barcelona, and Valencia. Notable among his accolades are the European Artist Award (Milan, 2023) and the European Artist Award (Florence, 2025).

Today, his work is held in private collections and featured on international contemporary art platforms. From his studio in Spain, he continues to develop a body of work in which matter, emotion, and light serve as vehicles for visual and spiritual exploration.

For Spadrna, a painting is not a closed or definitive image, but rather a space for experience—one that invites the viewer to discover what lies between the visible and the unknown.
